We wanted something different after wine tasting and Aril Estate did not disappoint.
We booked a tour (only $10 each) and were given a thorough introduction to olives, olive oil and pomegranates.
We saw the orchards and the different kinds of olives growing, and learned about pomegranate agriculture.
The entire process of growing olives, brining them, turning them into olive oil, what EVOO means, how to spot the difference between true olive oil vs blended - it was all fascinating and entertainingly explained by Andrew whose family owns and runs it.
With all we had learned on the tour, it was especially meaningful as tastings go.
